Natural Anti-Aging at 50

Share

It’s been ages since I last posted a video! Since I turned 50 earlier this year, I thought it was the perfect time to make a video about natural anti-aging and what’s working for me. There’s definitely been a big shift in my skin in recent years (a lot more dryness, sensitivity and, of course, the lovely signs of aging). As I get older, I’m finding the best results come from focusing on my skin health, which in turn gives me softer, firmer, more supple and balanced skin (everything we want for a luminous glow). In today’s video, I’m sharing the skin care and lifestyle go-tos that have made the biggest difference.

In this video, I talk about:

  • What great skin really looks like as we age. It’s not about having no lines or wrinkles. It’s skin that’s soft, supple, smooth and luminous.
  • Taking an honest look at your skin care routine and letting go of products that no longer give you results, or that have started making your skin worse.
  • Double moisturizing, the one change that’s made the biggest difference for my skin. I layer a facial oil with a cream or balm, plus tips if your skin is normal or combination.
  • Hydrators vs. moisturizers, and why your skin needs both.
  • Using actives wisely. When it comes to vitamin C, retinol, exfoliating acids and peptides, less is often more.
  • Diet for healthy skin, including whole foods, variety, healthy proteins and fats, and being mindful of carbs, sugar and salt.
  • Why exercise transforms your skin, and how running and resistance training help keep my face and body firmer and more lifted.
  • Mindset, and why some of us actually get better as we age.

What’s working for your skin right now? And if there’s a topic you’d like me to cover in my next video, let me know in the comments below!
